2 Corinthians
This is the third time I am coming to you. “By the testimony of two or three witnesses every fact will be established.”
As I said before when I was present with you the second time, now, though absent, I write in advance to those who previously sinned and to all the others: If I come again I will not spare anyone,
since you are seeking proof that the Messiah is speaking through me. And he is not weak in dealing with you, but is powerful among you.
For he was crucified in weakness, but he lives because of the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we will live with him because of the power of God toward you.
Examine yourselves to see if you are in the faith; test yourselves. Or do
you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Messiah is in you —
unless you fail the test?
And I hope that you will realize that we have not failed the test!
We pray to God that you will do no wrong — not so that we
may appear to have passed the test, but so you do what is right, even though we may appear to have failed the test.
For we can do nothing against the truth, but only for the truth.
For we
rejoice when we are weak but you are strong. We also pray for this: that you
become fully qualified.
That is why I write these things while absent, so that when present I will not have to treat you severely, using the authority which the lord gave me for building up, not for tearing down.
Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Put things right. Be encouraged. Be of the same mind. Live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with
you.
Greet one another with a holy kiss.
All the saints send their greetings.
The grace of the lord Jesus Messiah, the love of God, and the fellowship of
the holy spirit
be with all of you.
